BioCycle Ltd. were appointed by the client’s representative, DBFL Consulting Engineers, to assess the suitability of a site in north County Dublin for the development of a proposed 100 bed nursing home. Following on from a desk study of the site, several potential test locations were investigated during an on-site consultation.
The dwelling, which was constructed in the 1800s, was located at the end of a long and narrow access lane. The existing septic system, although not part of the original construction, was sub-standard and malfunctioning. BioCycle Ltd. were instructed to carry out a detailed assessment of the site, with a view to designing an upgraded system.
